Hi guys

Got the box in...

To dispel the myth, the ford T5 fitted behind the V8 with no issues, I have peeled back the rear of the shifter hole between 5mm-10mm well short of the seat bracing in the floor.

At this stage I'm not sure the box is sitting high enough due to the fact that the passenger side fuel rail is touching the heater box.If I jack the rear of the box up about an inch the fuel rail clears easily.

Any ideas?  was thinking of a spacer between the box and rubber mount.

Mike.....

Good work there, what engine mounts and crossmember are you using?

That the 6 cylinder box and which adaptor kit (bellhousing) are you using?

Thanks

Gearbox: Ford EL (I think) 6cyl T5  167mm input shaft

Bell housing kit and cross member: CRS  http://www.rodshop.c.../bh/bh-086b.htm

Engine mounts: HQ

Been on the phone to CRS due to I think my box is sitting a little low. Need to level out the car and take the gearbox down pinion angle, needs to be between 3-4 degrees.

Silly question but will a stock VS 5L belhousing fit and work with Falcon T5 or do you defo nead CRS Belhousing.

Not 100% sure but think input shaft length different, I believe people use ford 6 box because it's the shortest and fits standard shifter hole better

Hey Mike, good progress again with your installation. Does look like it could lift up a little, have you got a side on pic of your engine/engine bay?

Have a word with admin's as well about joining all your project threads together as one as that'll make it easier to keep a track of your progress & to go back on what you've achieved from the start (and easier for people like me to re-read & get ideas from!)

Keep up the good work mate!  :clappin:

Yer will have to try and combine the lot.
Checked out the pinion down angle, was about 8 degrees down, lifted the box up about 30mm and got the 3-4 degree angle, luckly there is a small amount of clearance between the tunnel and box still. Im sending the cross member back to CRS, the boys told me it may be the wrong one.

Hi mate
Done the same conversion in my hatch but used the dellows kit. Their crossmember was not much better, ended up cutting and re-welding it to lift it 30 or so mm, but all sorted now, running he ss console and no dramas

I made a custom cross member using an XD Falcon one, it sits heaps high, and cleared the heater box (when I still had it in). the XD one has a bent cutout where the exhaust can run close to the floor so you can tuck it up close. . . . .
