hole in firewall passenger side

hi all 

just wondering what this hole is for 

its passenger side  torana lx 77 hatch

it goes into the rail in engine bay has a strong rubber gromit round it 

when i pulled "toula" apart i don`t remember anything going through there ?IMG_3325.jpg

Looks like something was ran up inside the rail, after market.


* makes mental note to self whilst looking at factory spot welds - stitch weld the rails to the firewall etc*

Just thinking out aloud here, maybe a drain tube for aftermarket knee freezer A/C unit?

BINGO!

 

That's why there are two extra great holes above for the airconditioning lines. If it runs into the chassis rail, I wouldn't use it (water + metal= RUST).

As above post A/C holes plus drain hole .....your car must of had a under dash A/C unit at some point in its life ....
I have the same in mine and just welded the holes up .....no problems

I think Everyone is on the money with the aircon. It's a shame the people that installed these didn'tt stop and think of the long term implications of running water inside a chassis rail. Even though there is a hole at the bottom of the chassis rail if you've ever cut one open there is a bracket inside for the bolt hole where the cross member is mounted, the water wouldn't get past this and would just sit there.

Cause every one calls there torana torri or terri or even terrence  and i couldnt think of any other names that started with "T" except "Toula" and no offense my torana is gonna be phat =well i hpe so if the money stays good lol
