Alright guys.

Been talking to a few of the victorians on recent cruises/car shows and a few are keen on heading to Heathcote to run the cars down the 1/4 mile for a bit of fun.  I thought I may as well get a thread going to get an expression of interest and start tossing some dates/ideas around till we get something workable.

May 4 would work for me but it is the same day as Hanging Rock and I think Grant said he's busy that day.

June 1 would also work.

Who is keen?

May 4 would work for me but I would be struggling to be ready by that time. June 1 would be enough time to have the car ready but as usual it doesnt fit in with my work roster. I can always come on May 4th as I am off that day.

I am planning to have a wheel alignment done in the next few weeks when I pick up my new rims. They should be arriving at VPW in the next few days. Then I want to have my gearbox removed, slight oil leak fixed, new shifter installed, replace the throwout bearing and have the extractors removed and sent away for HPC coating. All this will take at least a couple of weeks I reckon.

Yeah Iv been hanging to take my car racing for ages. The only thing I don't like is its Sunday racing. The fact that's its so far away, & if you broke something it's a fair old hike back home.

Iv been wanting to go to Calder as its Friday night & a hell of a lot closer to home.

Cheers, Nig.

Looks like your right Nig. They do the Andra street drags on Friday nights with 3 scheduled for the month of May and 2 meets in each of June and July.

I'm easy.

Calder may be packed full of commodores? Would like to get a good few runs in but like I said, I'm easy.

Hi guys, I'm keen as.
May 4 no good for me.
I like Heathcote as its a lot more relaxed, and you can take a passenger
Also you get a lot more runs in a day.
If Calder is preferred and better for others, I can do that too.

Up to you Daz, you the man here! Either way, I'm in

Hanging Rock car show is on the 4th May. Maybe another excuse for a cruise?

I'm easy as well although I do prefer Heathcote and maybe anytime after the start of June.

Absolutely Mark, we should try and rustle up a few of us and put our cars in the show.

Hi guys, just like many of you guys I have a couple mates keen to go to Calder. I will probably make sure I'm ready for one of the following dates, ans then will still be happy to go to Heathcote another day.
Dates are
April 11th
May 9th
May 16th
These are all Friday nights. Anyone keen on any of these dates?

I'm thinking May, April is only next Friday night

Hey mate, none of those dates work for me  :banghead:

I'll probably go along to Calder one friday night in June.

I'm still not sure what I'm doing yet on May 4th yet.  Still undecided between Hanging Rock and Heathcote.

Leaning towards Heathcote but I probably won't decide until a few days before...

They are the dates from Calder's website. Feel free to check it out and give me a date. As you know May 4 doesn't work for me, I'm happy to pick another date for Heathcote though. I'm keen to come and play speedy games along side you!

Hi Grant,

Looks like May 9th will probably be alright for Calder now so let's plan on that.

I'm hoping to still make it to Heathcote May 4...

I can't make May 9th but I am planning to go to Heathcote on May 4th.

My cars in to get the new rims put on the front, new tie rod ends and a wheel alignment today. After that's done I just have to have the gearbox oil leak fixed, new shifter installed and the extracters hpc coated. All of this will be done in one hit. I'll try and get this stuff done this month if I can.

Cheers Wayno

Unfortunately cant get the car in until May 3rd. It will be out of action for at least 2 weeks as the hpc coating takes about 1 week. Besides the extractors being removed the gearbox has to come out.

We will be still coming to Heathcote on May 4th though.

Ah OK, cool mate. Hopefully it's a good day.

I'm not expecting too much from it to be honest. Unopened LS1, stock auto / converter, 3.5 lsd 9 inch, 215/45r17 pirellis on the rear, dyno tuned at 297rwhp....maybe 13 if I can get enough grip?

This run will be more of a baseline so I can measure improvements in the car after I start changing things around.

I think I'll kick the build thread back to life and document it all in there once I get going ;)

Of course! Car is coming.

If it's raining obviously I'm out.

Not sure if the Vic torana club is doing the hanging rock run (they all usually drive out together), but if they do I might tag along on that then peel off to go to Heathcote.

What is your plan?

Planning on taking the family and probably get there around 11am. Got a few friends I will ask if they want to come too. Obviously we wont be going either if the forecast is crap.
