Im wondering on which of these is LH and which is LX.

 

Also if they are the same as HJ, HX  and HZ.

LX is yellow 

LH is white

LX is yellow 
LH is white

Bit more to it Kirk.

Here is a LH radio I cant remember if its 9 or 11 transistor.

Like, could I swap the knobs off the dodgy looking yellow facia'ed one and put them on the white one and then it becomes an LX unit?

 

They have the same part number.

LX is yellow not white.

That's correct. AFAIK the top one is LX, including the knobs.

LX is yellow not white.

Yes of course, sorry guys I read it as LH for some reason. Even went back over wot's post to see if he had edited it but no.

Yellow and white facias would be easily swapped out if radios the same part number.

Just pulled mine to pieces to clean and is easy to do.

For the LH (and presumably other model holdens) range weren't there optional 9, 11 & 13 transistor radios

Not quite, it would look OK, but it's not correct.

As can be in post #3 (above) the LH Toranas use an HJ type radio which has a taller facia. The HJ/LH radios were the last ones made in Australia. The HX/LX with the more compact facia are the first of those imported from Japan.

Bottom one in the original post is the same as a tx-te Gemini SL radio.
