Hi All

I live in QLD and I'm just about to register my SLR that I brought as an unfinished project which has Mod plates fitted for the 9 inch and Top Loader. Does anyone know if you need to supply the original Modification Certificates when you apply for registration or if the fitted mod plates are all you need .

Any help greatly appreciated

In QLD the fitted modification plates are sufficient enough for a RWC.

I do this on an almost daily basis.

Hi Carmelo

The Mechanic doing the RWC is ok with the Mod Plates but I was under the impression that QLD DOT will also inspect the car when i take it in to register and may require Modification Certificates.

Sorry mate I cannot confidently answer that but I am given to understand that it depends on the examiner at the DOT,for some it may just be 'too hard'.

I've taken four cars with mod plates now to the DOT and I've never had to show any paper work just the mod plate itself.

Just a Follow up

Had no problem at all with the registration process.QLD DOT asked if I had the Modification certificates for the car. When i told them I didn't they requested to view the Mod Plates on the car, wrote down the particulars and that was it. All pretty painless really
