Hi Team. Im off to convert the LH square lights into LX round ones and wanted to see if I had the right bits. Here is my list:

1. Those bucket things (i have zinc holders)

2. The lights themselves (yet to buy)

3. The thin metal retainer bracket (yet to buy)

4. The round bezel/surround things

5. Headlight fitting kit from the internet with springs, screws, clips etc

The questions I would like guidance on are:

a) I think the headlights are 7'. Are torana ones different from HZ etc?

B) Can I buy retainer brackets specific to the torana (can I buy Kingswood ones)?

c) any mods required to the bodywork/panel etc?

Come on gents - impress me with your knowledge - I want to give the old girl a facelift over easter

Fitting kit of internet ....Yes
I believe HQ/HZ head lights are the same size as LX
Mods .....No
Sounds like your on the right track to giving the old girl a new face lift
and only basic hand tools needed ....screwdriver and if all fails get a FBH (F#%*@# Big Hammer)....LOL
Good luck

Mods to the buckets may be required dependent on which headlights you buy. For simplicity buy sealed beams that have the parking light window directly below the main bulb connector.
That'll also save cutting wiring and connectors.
