M20 Anti rattle bush

I just bought new aussie 4 speed shifter with anti rattle bush, I've tried everything but the bloody bush wont go on.

Anyone got any suggestions ?

Is the bush out of the Unit, then you need to pull the shaft out and assemble the bush in with all the other linkages. Dave I



I say, it will be a Compression fit

If that ^ is the bush in question, the ones I have seen you'd have to cut the stick to fit it.
Cut stick close to bottom, fit bush, fit remainder of stick into top of bush.

Another thing I've often wondered but never investigated is: Is that bush the same part as a rear leaf spring eye bush?
