Hi guys. For anyone interested on giving their car a run, I'm heading out to Calder Friday night. I intend on getting there as the gates open all going well with work.
I don't intend on making this a common accurance, but curiosity has got me.
Hope to see some of you there :)

Good luck Grant, think Calder Park only drag over 1000 feet last time I heard.

Would love to come but got a wedding on Sat which starts at 9am and the misses and 2 boys have been sick. Got another one on the way too. :o

Thanks Wayne.
Congrats on the expectation. Will the back seat of the Torana take 3 car seats?

Thanks mate. I dont think the torrie will take 3 car seats it was a squeeze with the 2 that we had in there last time.

Gotta buy the misses a new car too as she only drives a lancer. Looking at getting a Mazda 6 probably an 08 model, after that its buying all the stuff for a newborn. We sold almost everything about a year ago but I guess plans change.

Good luck at Calder Grant, look forward to hearing how it goes.

Wish I could go, but finances are too tight right now.

3 car seats in the back of a Torana sounds like koas! But I'm sure it might be possible? My brother in law fits 3 in the back of an EH.

Cheers.

Wish I could say I could help you out there, but we borrowed the newborn stuff.

Weather permitting, can't wait for tomorrow :)

I agree, no rain anywhere. Especially here!

Wayne its only Pro Stock that don't run the full 1/4 street cars use the whole track. I checked today.

May end up Heathcote anyway :)

Oh thats ok then. I wasnt exactly sure as a guy I work with had told me it was due to safety reasons, presumed it would be for all cars.

On another note I was watching a meet at Calder on tv a few weeks ago and couldnt believe how much the place has been run down. Not sure if Kim or Bob still own it but it doesnt look like any money has been spent on that track for 10 years. Was probably the finest track in Aust once, now it looks like its on its last legs.

I agree with the condition. Last time I ran my bike there it was very average. I ended up leaving cause I could feel the bike wandering towards the end of the track. Just too slippery. Not a good feeling at 200km

Looks like Heathcote the go. Just means a full day, a bit harder to get a full day off from the family rather than a Friday night

Yeah know the feeling mate. Seems like everytime I book something the last 6 months one of the kids get sick or something else pops up.

Apparently on the show I was watching the track has a very narrow groove in it from years and years of racing. I think this is why they had to extend the concrete barriers at the end of the track.

The track was good enough for the top fuellers to run on a few months ago. Should be ok for street car use.
Took the big kids and one of their friends out to see the top fuel event. They loved it.
