Im eastern burbs too but my mate is from Doreen, last Sunday I drove to his and we cruised through Kangaroo ground to Hurstbridge and on to Yarra Glen pub
for a couple of well earned frothies then to Ringwood and parted ways back home, not suggesting you guys do the same it was just me and a mate having fun.
the destinations that were planned for the last run sounded great, even if the run is shorter you know 2-3 hrs and a chin wag at a pub

Heathcote on the 31st is an awesome idea Wayno.
Only as a spectator this time for me 
Could grab lunch somewhere nearby or on the way or whatever...

He is from Doreen and has a tough LH. We've cruised with Steve before

man I would love to go but a trip to the drags is a bit out of my comfort zone.........
me and my mate did a cruize on the Sat just gone 9/8/14 from my place up nth rd to the beach then up the esplanade
all the way to Franga for 2 frosty beers and back to mine for a pizza and watch the footy.....bloody perfect
not having a go at this site or the people but I remember back when I was a weekend dirtbike rider the big events drew a lesser
group than the short burst runs......maybe a quick squirt round the traps will bring us out, just look at how popular the Friday nite
steel bumper cruises are, and most of thier runs are less than 10km from where they left from.
Im more than happy to invite for our next cruise but dont take this the wrong way but I get more than enough excuses from my off site
mates as to why the day/dates dont work out,and thats fair enuf we all have family.
chuck the missus and kids or yer moanin mate in the car and do a quick group sprint round the traps and bobs yer uncle??

Just to touch base on the cruise and what we should do. Not really much interest so far so should we do a shorter trip? I can send a few pm's around and wait until the end of the week and we can make a decision from there.
Any of our usual cruisers interested in going on the 31st?

One option is to go to this car show at Burnside which is on the Saturday night at 6.30pm in the Masters home improvement centre car park. Here are some details. Obviously weather would have to be clear.

I'm still in for the Sunday Wayno.
I'd like to stick with your original plan...
Meet somewhere north of city, drive towards Heathcote as a group, grab lunch and a pot somewhere, watch the drags for a while then head back to Melbourne as a group.
If people want to do something shorter and will commit to coming along then I'll gladly follow the crowd.
