Has anyone got pics of a torana hatch with full spoiler kit with racing stripes on bonnet, roof and boot.  Be interested to see what it would look like.  Red paint job with black racing stripes.  similair to the attached pic.  Maybe some one has some expertise to photoshop some racing stripes onto an all red hatch to see what it would look like.   saw a new red SS today with stripes and it looked hot.  It had the two wide stripes down the middle with a smaller stripe either side of the lAttached File  mtM2uat.jpg   59.07K   5 downloads large stripe.

How about a single stripe or combination on right side only that integrates the SS sticker on rear?

With what you have done though, thinking wider and extend more to the bonnet edge.

They look OK on the boot lid but not right on the bonnet as they don't match the lines (need to wider as above). Also I wouldn't put them on the roof at all

The old Camaros stripes do not go over the roof. Mustangs stripe kits did. The camaro bonnet stripes finish with round corners in the plenum and continue all the way to the grill opening. Try widening your stripes and narrowing the outline. On the rear you need to start the stripes from slightly below the rear window with the narrow outline then continue the stripe to the boot opening. Not into the back panel. That's how they are on my 69 z 28.

I would try with them right out on the raised edges of the bonnet like the HQ SS

I would try this style (but leave out the roof) and inc the front spoiler to the windscreen (inc the stipes over the nosecone and over the front bumper if painted). Then the same from the rear glass to the beaver panel (inc rear bumper if painted).

I would be looking at how it all meshes up with the rear number plate (inc number plate recess) and if your running an A9X scoop just how you choose to size the stripes to suit that as well as the rear. Even experiment with a narrow/wide centre gap or even another narrow pinstripe edging highlight.

Its just a matter of lines that make sense.

With the Mustang stripes; the body lines create an optical illusion so to make the stripes look even (from above) they were tapered; thickest around the front screen area and getting thinner toward front and back.

You could also try something like this:

Here's some more ideas:

Couple of ideas, something period similar use the HQ GTS style, or modify the two stripe panels into one, like lose the strip through the middle, would look pretty cool.

Also perhaps try a less contrasting colour for the stripes, I have seen a dark silver car with a slightly lighter silver set of stripes, looks classy.

Another idea if you must have two stripes is the full treatment, over everything including painted bumpers.

i was also toying with idea of some sort of stripe or stripes on my hatch but just cant quite picture it looking right, I like your hatch lid but it might look better if the whole rear panel was black between the tail lights like the slr or something. as for the roof NOOOO stripes and the bonnet has to be a bit longer to meet the nosecone. Thats just my opinion. Im not a big valiant fan but man they had some cool side stripe schemes. Maybe you could look into a charger style hockey stripe thats starts just in front of the windscreen and tapers down and runs along the sill or something like a cross between an ss stripe under the side windows but then kicks up and over the hatch. Just an idea as all the others just seen to be mustang type racing stripes Good luck

   Cheers jake

G'day Ryan
Michael's idea of the HQ GTS stripes would look good, following the lines of the bonnet
that would match the width of grill & blend in with the car, but over the roof would be a
bit much IMHO.
It'll be good to see how that would look like mate.

The Camaro above Ryan, similar to the HQ GTS & would look different in carbon fibre.
Good choice not to go over the roof mate it would look like a lollie wrapper or a fraud.

What about this scheme?

It was all the rage in the 70's.

And I thought I had finally found a UC I liked. The photo I found of this car has had a bit of work done to it I think.

The bonnet stripes on that late model Camaro could look good on a UC.

Some more, although non-traditional they can inspire some ideas.

You could also try different hood scoops for different effect.

Matte black on black bonnet:

2015-dodge-challenger-t.jpg

I've always been a fan of the Stinger Hoods on Corvettes, this bonnet almost looks Torana.

P1000150.jpg

Corvette's usually have the pinstriping

It'd be good to have a play with a graphics programme to compare different colour schemes, bonnet styles, etc. to see what works, it's sometimes hard to give classics a modern look without looking kitsch, can look okay on custom projects.

Keep in mind adhesive stripes; if you change your mind later they're easily removed, some US cars had adhesive stripes from factory, it saved time and painting costs.
