While I'm putting up photos of the dash, I should mention  that anyone looking to renew the silver outlines on the dash could do a lot worse than use the Krylon paint pens.  They're by far the best paint pens I've ever used with a nice chisel point that makes it pretty easy to get good coverage in two sweeps.  Do one, let it go off, then apply another sweep and it comes up brilliantly.  I masked with low tack masking tape just to be safe.

I have seen one May '74 SLR with the MPH / KPH speedo. So from early May '74 to August '75 they were KPH with white dials and a six window odometer. In August '75 they went to the seven window odometer and were still white dials until they went yellow. I'm not 100% sure if that was right from the start of LX production, but ALX000032M had a yellow dial cluster when it was for sale. But it also had a body coloured engine bay and a restamped engine number.

It's time to do something bobtail wise so I pulled out the one I got with the car when I bought it.  It's made of plastic but doesn't have the hidden mountings on it.  I believe the factory ones were plastic but had embedded screws etc so I wonder where this one was made.

Some of the plastic ones had an insert that bolted to the boot lid, and then the spoiler was glued to it.

I might have a go at making an insert out of steel and just lightening it up with some speed holes and then glue the spoiler to that.
