this is my newly acquired 10/73 GTR, it was last rego'd in W.A with a v8 so I will put another 253 in it to licence then put in the worked VS v8 that I got with the car, it was missing 2 tags when I got it but with the help of people on here we verified it as a genuine GTR, when I started working on it and taking out the interior and carpet etc I found the missing slim VIN tag under the carpet, (great find I thought) I have started  the rust repairs, which are not to serious but are still in the usual places, I will post pics as I do them, I have put my hatch project on hold as this car is much more complete and I have had one before that I always regretted selling, this car will be cyan blue again, standard apart from the running gear (I would leave the standard running gear in it if I had it), it will be 304, 4sp and it came with a lsd 9inch which is a bonus, I already bought the 253 and 4sp, they will just be painted and installed, all the steering and other mod's have already been done by the last owner. any way this is it, thnx Greg

some of the repairs I've started, may redo the lhs floor pan and put in a whole rare spares section, the lhs outer rocker panel was from rares and fits quite well, only had a couple of small repairs behind the outer rocker panel, I bent up a new flat piece that goes under the floor that the rocker attaches to, the windscreen repairs where done by another owner and will probably need re doing. cheers Greg

thanks Dave

This is the LJ I built in 1995-6 in Maddington W.A, it was a 253 4SP car, loved it, anyone know what happened to it? was in mint condition back then, wish my new one was as good, but it will be. Cheers Greg

Found a few hours today to do some work on it, fixed the rust around he door jam near the lower hinge, made the end of the rocker panel best I could, still need to refine it with a dremmil or similar grinder, took the 4sp off the engine(253), probably just re-gasket it for now, quite happy with the way the lhs rocker panel is coming along, filled the hole in the corner of the front guard also, Greg

Hey look there's another one of those funny interior light switches.

It does look Cyan in a couple of those pics.

Keep going Greg, every bit you do is one less bit you have to do later  :spoton:

Going at a rapid rate, be finished in no time. I noticed you cut off the door hinges, any reason?

And can you show how you re-aline the doors for me as I will one day be tackling this, but avoiding it.

mine were previously cut open to get the pins out, then welded back up, so not surprising, pins are never going back in the holes.

Easiest way for mine would be to cut the hinges off and replace them.

thanks

Somebody was asking about a similar switch a few weeks ago.

I hadn't seen one like that before, but now I've seen two  :D
