Hi , I'm looking at buying a new repo steering wheel, what should it be 3mm or 5 mm spokes,.
This is for a LH torana, I'm looking at a blank horn cap as it neither a SLR or SS

PRetty sure 3mm would be correct for your car.

They made them thinner for something to do with crash safety or some shiti, and i THINK it was around 72..

Cheers.

Was later than 72. 78 somewhere I think. There's debate on when it actually changed.

Pretty sure you can't get repro 5mm wheels. Only 3mm.

And yeah, was an ADR change about the steering wheel collapsing in an accident.

The wheel I have now is the std cracked oval slippery plastic one !

Do you mind doing a bit of a review on the repro one if you buy one?

Been thinking about getting one for my car.

Cheers.

The repro GM sports wheel only comes in 3mm thick spokes.

DJ, as for the repro steering wheel, I can only say "I've smelt it, I've felt it, its just like a bit of velvet.............." :spoton:
