Maxxis Tyres

I have some Maxxis Bighorns on my wife's cruiser and they are ok but I feel like they haven't done as many k's as I thought they would.
We had Maxxis Buckshots on her previous car and they seemed to last forever.
Just wondering if anyone has tried their normal road tyres and what sort of grip and life you got out of them?
I have heard from 1 person that they are crap so really just looking for other peoples opinions and if they are no good what else is available in a 205+ x 13?

Interesting post Craig,
I find soft Rubber compound wears out quick, and Hard tyres last longest,
But you are after the Maxxis wear Factor these Day's.
Hope someone knows.

I've been told Sumitomo HTR200's in 205/60R13 are quite good, and probably better than Maxxis. I think they retail at around $120 (in Adelaide). Only what I have been told though; not personal experience.

Any idea who sells them?
Same old story Craig you get what you pay for
Yeah but there aren't many options
Thanks for the input guys, sounds like they are ok but not the greatest which is what I'd heard before. I was hoping someone would say they're cheap and awesome, but like in most cases the two are mutually exclusive.

Only know in Adelaide, it is Discount City Tyres. Have a look on eBay as well. A few sellers have them on there.

Yeah quite a few options on eBay, thanks for that.
They look so cheap too until you factor in delivery and fitting and balancing, but still can get better tyres for a similar price.

13's are a bugger of a size to get these days. Antique Tyres has 13's with red bands on them now, but I think they're around $250 a tyre. Again, not sure of the quality. I think they are the BF Goodrich tyres from the States. They are on their website.

Two different things. V is the speed rating, 85 is the load rating. You would expect the legal requirement for both to be that they must meet or exceed the original OEM requirements on the tyre placard.what is the minimum 'V' rating can we have,
like those are 85V

Hi Scott,
I have noticed that they ( Ben ) have moved from Welshpool,
and I cannot find where they are now.
Antique Tyres has 13's with red bands on them now,
I think the V is needed, so just need to find the Load rating Chart then, thank's
85 is the load rating.
