Hello,

Needed a Thread related to LC / LJ Instrument Decals,

as I have searched endlessly,

which nothing comes close to the look of how they were having 8,000rpm or more.

So this is what I need to do to my Tachometer Decal:-

Attached File  8500rpm.jpg   45.03K   7 downloads

next is the 150mph Speedo, done with the same old skool look.

Anybody else have their ideas to show?

Though I would do a 10,000rpm Tacho Decal for Gene:-

Maybe Les from Rares Spares could make them for us, as they will get a lot of attention.

See if you can get the speedo head recalibrated to suit may be easier than messing about with speedo drive gears.

Hi Dave

Went into Ringwood Speedometer Service today.

Question 1 Can you guys turn the gtr 7k tacho into a 10k one? Yes and will remake backing plate to to look the same as the old skool one.

Question 2 What about the speedo same deal, will make what you want and backing plate old skool.

What they need is the old instruments wheel size. Diff gears.

Here a pic of there card, maybe send them a email to get price and a bit more on what they do and what you want.

If what I seen today is to go by then there work is excellent.

Victor

Just need a 0.6:1 ratio reduction box to drive her, so that the speedo reads right.

Don't mind to look at the speed at the left most of the time.  :stirpot:

or I wonder if we can change the gearbox gears to suit the Decal using a 2.78:1 diff ratio? hmm, will look.idea.gif

looks like the closest is having:-

Gearbox driver gear = Red 7 tooth

Cable driven gear = Light Blue 25 tooth

where they combined will give 69.4kph at 100kph

The advantage with the layout of this 10k tacho is it will actually be able to reach 10k if Gene's 202 will rev that high. :D
