Mine has been painted the same colour as the car at some stage (burnished bronze) and although it does look good i had planned to repaint it black as per original..
It then got me wondering if they were all actually black from factory? My car was built 12/1970....
Cheers, Rob..

My Adelaide built 2 door is the same too. I recently resprayed my engine bay and the colour mix to match the original paint is 300 ml white to 50 ml black. However there's many variables in the colour of the blue/grey used as apparently they were using up left over paints or incorrectly mixed paints all mixed together.

I have a few "original" LC's... Some are satin black and some are blue black..Ive been informed that it depends on when they renewed the paint.. At the end of a shift they tipped ALL the paint into a large pot and got the paint supply company to make it blue black...
Im painting my LC gtr the Dulon satin black 578-04159 ... medium gloss interior. (same as LC XU-1) boot is going to be the blue black that Ill mix myself to the shade I want.
I have original Dulon paint formular books.

Some of the Adelaide built cars have grey boot interiors and engine bays. In the Torana tough book there's a very original Lc GTR with a grey engine bay.
Sorry guys, I just realised that I wrote the paint mix back to front, it should've read 300ml black to 50 ml white. That's for a late July 73 Adelaide built car.
I also noticed that the brake fluid decal in the above pic is on the heater box, that's the third Adelaide built Lc GTR with the decal on the heater box instead of the normal position.

My car is Adelaide built 12/70 burnished bronze, my boot is also painted the blue/grey colour..
Same combo as your car threeblindmice?
The engine bay was painted bronze by previous owner just before i bought it around 13 years ago, paint is still perfect and looks good so its a shame to strip it but hoping to pull the motor out once the weather gets a bit warmer and re-paint it as per 'original'...
Cheers, Rob..
