Not in a Torana but dirtbag has fitted one to a HK Monaro

just to tidy up the bay dave,as you know will have a 2j in there and just want room for the turbo,i have the oil filter to the trans
cooler under rhs guard, both the inlet and outlet fittings to the cooler behind the grille are pointing to the rhs so thats another
reason why i want it under the dash.i believe this booster would be very tight as it would come very close to the steering column and be
down a bit low if bolted the master cylinder to the original hole,it could be moved up a couple inches but would have to do small fab
work to the firewall as its not flat, that wouldnt be too hard to do,but i would like to change the arrangement with the bracketry to the
brake pedal from the left side to the rhs to make way for clearance to the steering column, otherwise the pedal will be hitting the
coloumn or to the left of it.i cant see no reason why it wont fit then .i will put up a couple pics i pinched and you will
see what i mean with the pedal setup

can see here the pedal bracketry is on wrong side in first pic see wher the pedal is ljzedded 295.jpg 184.51K 3 downloads

Haaaa true jake.was hoping someone has done it lol.save me buying and cant use it haha.oh well thats what
we are all here for to help each other out aye.i will get onto curls and get the measurement of the length.it will be touch and
go but keen to get one under there,i think you are right with the 90 deg one .these are engineered too so should have
no worries passing.
hey gene,it would be good if say you dont have to mod a little bit of the firewall.and only cut a section out of what the pedal
box bolts to it would be great. steering column is the only prob i can see with the fitment, hopefully its all go gene

someone might know who owns it from the engine
Posted 01 August 2014 - 01:26 PM
thanks hamo, pretty clean looking rig....can someone explain to me how this setup works please
Posted 01 August 2014 - 02:07 PM
All i can remember is that the booster was infront of the wheel on the right hand side (if you where in the drivers seat) He could possibly be at toranafest again this year. Im sure someone would know whos car it is though it isnt the most original standard one out there.

A nightmare of plumbing but it can be done
I wouldn't though
I'd have to get a look at a lil Torana to figure out the best way to do it

i'll say datto.its got me lost but i dont know much haha, the last engineer wanted me to go two boosters, but all i really
needed was a dual booster with the original dual circuit master cylinder, had me lost with 2 single circuit setups and was
going to plumb a small cylinder lever setup between the lines for the handbrake which would of been illegal.glad i didnt
let him do it,as i wanted a handbrake cable setup so in the event of a failure still had the hadbrake to pull her up

Ok ive bit the bullet.and ordered one, front of booster to rear is 225mm this includes extra for bracketry and the pedal will be
on the rhs of booster.so should have no probs with steering column i hope, once i get it here will be able to give you's a better run down
on the fitting side of things $450 for the auto setup. $480 for the manual.this will run 4 wheel discs.
the internet is bloody crap for true infomation i tell you, as the the booster doesn't come with certif as getting it passed all
comes down to how you mount it to firewall, but if its mounted correctly no drama's

im not even sure that those 7 inch boosters that they use on those are legal either maz. our local brake guy told me that cos they are from the states they arnt tested or certified but it will all depend on your engineer,
jake

Nooooooo, ahh crap ive been waiting for someone to say something on the booster.frock me jake lol.i told him that this car is going to
be registered.i will look under the rules and try and find something,
Posted 06 August 2014 - 07:55 PM
thanks for that jake will give the chief a buzz and see what he says
cheers

I think I've mentioned before they don't provide much boost and are abit poo
Posted 06 August 2014 - 09:23 PM
i hope your wrong datto as i mentioned to him will it run 4 discs
and said it will as long as i run a twin circuit,he's sold hundreds
of them and havn't had any issues,

Ford m/cyl with remote booster in orange torrie, brake line galore with those things..ok if using one & only rear drum brakes but more PITA if rear discs means two of the suckers.
lj355 did it on here reservoirs in engine bay though.
I liked those floor set ups with pedals & m/cyls on floor in race set ups no booster...told it was a no-no.

sorry maz, i no of plenty of cars that are engineered with them boosters but it just depends on how strict yours is, you should be fine

i hope your wrong datto as i mentioned to him will it run 4 discs
and said it will as long as i run a twin circuit,he's sold hundreds

I know plenty of people that have removed them as they are low on boost
Also many that buy them and haven't fitted... as we all do... buy parts for 'later on'
So many sold doesn't mean many work
I have however seen a few that people are happy with (usually low km hotrods)
I prefer the 8" or 9" ones and won't use the little 7"
