3.89 ratio is FX to EJ 35 to 9 teeth. You probably want a 3.90 ratio which are 39 to 10 and available EH on, in the 149 low comp commercials I believe.

You’ll also find 3.9 banjo gears in most 4cyl LH-LX Torana, LX-UC Sunbird and 4cyl Commodore. Some HK-HZ 6cyl commercial had them too for certain fleet customers but pretty rare.

Great stuff, thanks guys. It looks like I can run Banjo gears in my Gemini small salisbury if I use an adapter, as the torque tube type pinion shaft is longer. The banjo pinion shaft is thicker than the Gemini one, and that's where we keep breaking them :)

So you can get them second hand, just not new?

The old FE to EJ which have a different uni setup are pretty common second hand and generally haven’t worked too hard. They may be suitable depending on your adaptor setup. The 3:90 I don’t think they are so common, but nor are they sought after, so shouldn’t be dear. Doubt you’ll get anything new unless nos.
