We have been discussing the LH LX UC Bumper Bar Over Riders here recently (GMH Part No.: #9933116, #9933117, #9933118 and #9933119).

What is the consensus, are they worthwhile remaking? In demand? Let us know what you think here...

I'd love a set. To my understanding there are two types for rubber/rubberless bumpers.
I have recently bought a few sets on ebay.

The rubberless ones only require a small trimming to fit the rubber fitted bumpers. I'd just make those.

Any bolt shop will have them Kevin.

I looked into having these reproduced out of poly. They could be done in a range of colors too, but there wasn't enough demand at the time.

Seem to be plenty available in the marketplace.

Even new ones still show up reasonably regularly

I'm fairly certain I have a single over rider with the clamp you mention, the over rider itself has damage to the rubber. I'll know for sure if I still have it by Saturday afternoon so PM if you're still in need of the clamp.

They do.

Often see them on EBay from around $300 for NOS.

This is the most recent one - only $500!!!

Would depend on price too.

Me to - interested but only at a reasonable price hopefully not aligned with what NOS units are going for.

Cheers, TB

if you hunt around you can find decent 2nd hand ones for $80 a pair. I'd hope repro's wouldn't be much more then that.

Were the over riders an option? Or standard on some cars?

Hanra, SLR and SS - I believe they may have been standard. An optional accessory on the rest.

It sounds like they are not in high demand at the moment. Appreciate the feedback from you all.

Edan.

Overriders were standard on;

LH:  Nil as standard equipment,

LX: SL/R (3.3 and 4.2lt) and SS (all variants),

UC: SL Deluxe Torana and SL/E Sunbird

They were however, an option for all models of LH, LX and UC Toranas

Interestingly, they were N/A for the standard UC Sunbird...

The price for a set at the time...  $11.00 for the front and $11.00 for the rear.

A bit of flat 2mm by 25mm wide x 'bout 32mm long steel, drill it, bend it    :spoton:

If you need a profile of the bends then let me know and I will take one of mine off and scan or draw it
