That is nice, and I hate bright green! Does it have a V8 already or plans for one? I'd love an old FB with a 283 SBC

Really nice car! Mate had an FB years ago with a 308, unfortunately he didn't know how to drive, luckily he sold it before breaking it.

Oh, 'a bit big' may have meant the picture. Still... bigger the better, more detail!

wow thanks guys for your comments. yea meant the pic was to big. na not for sale mate just a sign through the window. and yea was at all holden day saw your eh and wanted to catch you and talk about your car but I turned round and you were just on your way out.no v8 plains very few look good in fb engine bays I think. I no I said that but I like the very clean look nothing in there that's not meant to be there.

the plan is to sell the 186 in it now and build another motor that a engine builder has just working out price. basically 208 red block acl pistons rings bearings, star fire rods, arp bolts and studs balanced, crow 35647 cam. the head is a black 12 port that flowed 300hp (it has v6 valves in now but need to change then) aussie speed manifold match ported to head and pacemaker extractors htc coated. all so have to work out comp thinking 11.1 but thats the engine mans job.  just have to put it all together

if the price is right I will go a head with that.. that's why I come here for the info on the littlie 6 bangers

the 186 is fine but when this engine was put in my face I had to look at it

thanks guys

how driveable would this engine be do you think ??? auto

That sounds like a descent combo.
Good comp ratio.
With that cam profile you're gonna need a high stall converter if you auto it, mines at 4000 with a cam a little bigger than yours.
I'd leave it manual. I can say that after recently converting... Manual is much less boring on the street.
Sounds like we nee to catch up!

Oh yeah, this is by far the best place to get info on hot sixes too.

It's a pretty "healthy" so as mentioned your convertor will need to be up in the revs otherwise it'll be a dog to drive on the road. This engine has similar specs to my 12 port engine which ran 12.71@104mph in my LJ using a manual.

hi warren what size do you think?? I have a 2500 but can get made bigger I think. good to see the times you got interesting to see that mine with the right stuff could get maybe in 12s not that I will be drag racing I think I am to old. except for the odd take of from lights

lhsl308..yea thanks all my own doing took about 5 years to get on road and if this engine goes a head it will be my 3rd motor just cant stop messing with it .

with the green it needed the white to brake it up

Couldnt agree more mate. If the white was painted in the green the car wouldnt look anywhere near as good. What colour is that green?

You would be better talking to a convertor shop, but that cam isn't going to have a great deal of punch below 3000/3500 rpm.

Old, never too old. :D
