2 barrell carby

i would like to know who will make the most power using a 2 barrell carby,does not matter if it is aspriated of forced induction.And with the fastest 1/4 mile times and terminal speed.

So for the Holden Six, we have a:-

 

-  52mm Dellorto

 

-  48mm Weber

 

-  500 2bbl Holley

 

 

and what other ones do we have to compare Jason?

350 holley.45mm weber,40mm weber.even the webers of of any car that can be used on a holden 6.



i am still a big fan on the weber carbys in turbo or aspriated form.i will probaly get roasted over this.Webers are the closest carby to mechanical fuel injection.

I would of thought the 500 holley would of done well,

 

also I remember the supercharged Red Six with two 500 holleys on.

 

 

Not sure how well that went,

 

but a Guy called 'Mr Chev' from Melbourne I think built them hey.

Turbo I think wins hands down.

i founded a site a bout air pressure for the turbo cars.i put in my info and they came out with 330hp.Now mine has a lot bigger intake manifold so my guess would be about 380hp.Close to 2 ton of air pressure.

48mm weber dave.they are the best carbys to use on turbo holden 6.my friend who built my engine,he also had a car name turbulance back in the 80s with a turbo 192, 48mm weber carby.He tried su no good could not keep the fuel up to it.same with the 500 holley.he also tried a like a 750 double pumper it went alright,but went close to a full second quicker over the 1/4 mile with the weber carby.Back in the 80s he was featured in the dragster australia magazine.12.001 @ 121 mph on bf goodrich ta 265/60/14 on the rear 2.78 diff gears m20 4 speed,5500 rpm.

Damn, I only get 104mph in 3rd with a 2.78 using the 265/60/14 at 5500rpm,

 

I must be doing something wrong, hmm

 

 

 

and 157mph in 4th, at 5500rpm.

I use to do 104mph in 3rd using 215/60/13 and a 3.08 diff at 7000rpm

yeah dave his torana made 410 rear wheel horsepower back in the 80s super fuel with avgas.yes he did go across the line in third gear.



Maybe you mean 151mph in top at 5500rpm Jason.

it would be very close to 150m/ph dave.

Got it,

 

it was, 6500rpm in 3rd using a 2.78 diff,

 

and 265/60/14 tyres at 121mph.



and an Aussie M20 3rd is 1.51:1

i am having a guess with mine 2.78 gears 13 inch wheels top gear @5500rpm 140 m/ph.

While trying to find a 121mph Torana 6 at 12 seconds ( which is about right ),

 

I found this goodie, which puts the shivers up the old spine hey:-

 



a 3.08 diff at 5400rpm in top is 143mph Jason, on 215/60/13's.

There was a HG monaro here at willowbank that ran mid to low 11's @ 120 odd, late 80's early 90's
It was a 186 strata setup and a 4 barrel.

Guys, it's "naturally aspirated", not just "aspirated". All engines are "aspirated", regardless of whether they have forced induction or not.
