So I'm guessing yours are all originals then?

I can understand why you wouldn't be a massive fan of replicas if that is the case.

Hey Tim, don't want to get too off topic here but interested on your opinion on the following.

i understand your stance and I alway have a preference to the originals also, just the way I am.

But what happens when the original has been lost such as the Bob Jane A9X or a couple of the Bill Patterson cars? (I think I've got my facts right??)

Pretty sure there is a Bob Jane replica that had been done an i love the car and the fact that we can then see it (or a representation of it) in the flesh.

Regards Jeff

Ps bring on sandown

Not sure that this response was warranted at all. We all have our opinions about replicas, Dustings expressed he doesn't like them, and has his reasons. I personally have no problem with replicas, provided they are not passed off as the real thing. I think the issue is though if you do have the real thing, you put your time and effort into researching it, getting it right, taking it to a show and then someone rocks up with a pretty replica, and suddenly the average public think it's the real one.

I know a guy who used to own one of Brocks cars. I remember someone who happened to be a good friend rolling up to the same show with his replica. The officials told him to bring it in with the race cars. Suddenly people were having their pictures taken with Brock and his car rather than the real race car. The owner of the real thing got very agitated about it and wanted to  "punch the other guy out". I thought it was a bit over the top considering the other guy was told by the officials to bring it in, but I can see his frustration.

On the other hand I'm liking seeing some of these replicas, like the Cooke car which has sadly gone long ago. It's nice to see something different.

What a twat !

Giving the thumbs down to a replica is just as bad as booing. People have invested lots of time and money and generously display them for people's enjoyment. To give them a thumb down or boo very poor form.

I stand by comment, it was completely warranted
