Hi guys,I seen a nice G Pack LH,LX the other day in a mag,and it got me thinking, what other special models did Holden come up with for the road, and not the track?

I am thinking things like the G Pack, that stood out with its blackouts, not just trim and option specials.

Maybe a factory Sunbird sticker kit or something?

There was a Deluxe in I think UC Sunbird.
No stripes or sporty bits just SL/R wheel covers, badge, cloth seats not sure what else...

A9X was a limited edition special build for the road. Yes it homologated some bits but it was never a built for race car like the XU1 and L34.

Seems like there was a few variations around.

I think I remember seeing a few Torana's when I was a kid running big Sunbird lettering and a stripe on the rear quarters,or door maybe.

Yeah I know, but still a cool 'dealer built' special... (c'mon, let us UC owners score some points here!)

You may as well include UC's with V8's added by people, no different if you or I or a dealer did it!

That's right Sunbird only, not sure why the 6 never got that spec.

One of our 2 UC SL 202 hatches has cloth trim & intermittent wipers. (Until now, I thought that the inter wiper set up was aftermarket)

No carpet up the doors, std steer wheel, sports instruments.

Sorta like a half done Deluxe, in Torana 6cyl 4 speed configuration.

Cheers,

Daryl.

A9X was not built as a race car. It was a very nice road car that homologated parts for race cars, which is a far cry from the series production stuff. Yes some A9X road cars were raced, but that is no different to other stuff like Cortinas, Toyotas, GTS sedan etc.

I think the diff was still an option. It wasn't standard on all SL/E's. :)
