We need the lj passenger side plastic mirror bases to be remade, I've never even seen one for sale so I had to make my own.

In answer to both firstly we do not have any samples of either.

We have around 600 parts being made at the moment.

We will eventually get there just not sure when.

We get requests from owners of all models to make parts and there is only so much we can do, sorry if this is not the answer you want but they are the facts.

1st ones to make them will sell them like hot cakes. Well, the 1st thousand or so I would think, after that the market might become limited?

Thanks for the reply Les.

Just so you're aware, the HQ type plastic mirror bases are also listed as being suitable for Lj's but they are not correct. The lj items are curved on the back to match the curve of the door skin, the HQ /LX type are flat.

I haven't looked for quite a while, but if my memory serves me correctly I'm sure it used to have the same part as the HQ item, perhaps everything has been updated since then. I can also remember asking in one of the stores approximately 5 years ago and being handed the HQ ones. I ended up purchasing a pair of these and gluing them together and reshaping them to match the curve of the passenger side door skin.

PS. Les is there any chance of one day making Lc /Lj wiper motor switches as most of these either don't pump water any more or have bad connections and may only work in one speed or if you keep moving the knob around.

Thanks James

Hi Les

Look in the LJ Parts Catelogue under 10.187

Note that not only are the mirror stalks a different part number to the LH Torana and HQ Holden, but so are the mirror pads AND the metal support bracket has a left hand and right hand side also. I guess you will have to also reproduce these brackets to enable a good fit with the pads.

Cheers

Bazza

Hot cakes sell extremely well when hot & normally sell out, if the quality is up to standard & the batch made isn't too large for the market, as they don't sell so well when cold. But then, that's a different market...

I'm also after a left hand mirror stem, mount and plastic pad, happy to swap for a NOS washer pump/switch if anyone's got a spare set lying around.

Hi Les

In post #10 above, I read it as that you couldn't find the relevant part numbers so I provided the reference. I also wanted to make the point for the benefit of other readers, that the metal supports have separate left and right handed components in respect of LJs, unlike the HQ and LH where these supports are interchangeable.

I sorry if you inferred that I was questioning Rare Spares knowledge, skill or aptitude in any way.

Cheers
