Bought it as a $300 blown motor wreck parked next to a barn!
Knowing what I was getting into I had already bought a Z18xe from an astra along with a holden Viva throttle body to make the motor work with the existing computer.
Got the new motor fitted and registered it before starting the next round of mods.
After working out the niggles and having a lot of fun with the power to weight in a front wheel drive it was time for more.
And the motor got a tidy up as well.
So then the spending begins!
That brings us pretty much up to date, it's being built for autocross, hillclimb and Tarmac rally at this stage but may venture into the Qld rally championship further down the line.

Before and after on blacking out the headlight surrounds
Picked up some bits for the rear disk conversion, a headlight to replace the one I broke, and a new overflow bottle. Also some clear side repeaters.

Between watching the great race I got some more bits finished off and fitted. Waiting on a lot more in the mail! Also picked up an electric power steer pump so I don't have to run the massive brackets off the side of my motor.

More goodies arriving!
A shot of the electric steering pump.
Shaved the hatch, using aero catches instead ready for when the fibreglass replacement arrives. Picked up the polycarbonate sheet for the windows today too.

Just remember the torana started as a 4cyl opel design too!

No, it didn't. The first Torana was an HB Vauxhall Viva, which was a very distant relation to the Opel Kadet in general appearance only.
There were no interchangeable parts, between the 2 cars.
