Yuck on the polished idea :P

Most of the later model long nose ones have a cast impeller, just use the later style pulley with it

yuk on polished? bit of bling is always good lol, was only looking at polished as all other alloy in my engine bay is polished etc,

might have to agree though on the later model pump and different pulleys.

as i have killed this pump in only 400KM use. is leaking out the small hole as they do when the seals are shot.

stinking gilmer belt set up and the tension i had on it i would blame for the killing of the pump.

i am buying new v belt pulleys and water pump so i might just get the long nose pump and pulley as i think they are a bit stronger with the twin bearing arrangement?

Yeah too much tension doesn't help but even with none I had an original cast impeller short pump up until a while ago and it destroyed the bearing, so have gone to the long one. GMB seems to be the main aftermarket brand and I don't know why but their short pumps have the silly small pressed steel impeller while the long ones have a proper cast one.

We don't have that much choice!

The GMB one I bought looks OK, so far so good
