Over the years I've noticed that some S and SL model Lj's seem to have black outs similar to Lc GTR's. Now I know that your probably thinking that these are just cars that the owners wanted to make look like gtr's. However this isn't always the case. I have seen some unmolested 4 doors with this paint treatment, Mikecatts showed a white one of these in one of his threads. They appear not to be painted black on the rear beaver panel above the bumper but they are below it as per Lc GTR's. Some of the cars I can remember were 73 Adelaide built cars (I don't remember any Brisbane ones)

Does anyone have any information or examples on this thought?

my chateau mauve 72 4 dr sl has it.but it doesn't go right up to the top of sills or on drs.

 

bout 1/2 inch from the top of sill is where it stops.will be redoing it when painted but

 

higher up like xu1 but gtr at beaver panel.i reckon it looks good if done properly

Thanks, the others I've seen have been lower on the sills as you describe.
Is your car a Adelaide or Brisbane car?
Can you show some photos?

sorry james..yes mine is an adelaide car.iv'e just taken some pic in the dark lol.

 

the beaver panel has had black sprayed over it where it originally was
