Dan Its the spirit of evolution, we must continue or were all doomed

Evolution ,thats what its all about . Look at top fuel engines ,they are still Chysler hemi based but not one part is Chrysler .

Definatley cheaper to go with the LS but yr not getting it Vick , we play with holden 6's not cause theyre the best it's cause we like them and the challenge of getting power out of something not designed to make power.

I do get the point. I have been playing with Holden 6's since they were painted grey. I would love to get a JZED block/head combo. But this is all about discussion. I am simply pointing out a negative.

No problem. I understand that something typed whilst one is tired might be misunderstood.

Thoughts = nice. Especially if they go ahead like they are suggesting and make a bloke to suit the 9 port and a crossflow head aswell.

I'm not surprised. Maybe you'd be better off looking for a red 6 block instead. :)

I used to know a bloke in a 9 port suit, wanted a 12 port but needed bigger balls.

Hello Daz,

I seen this scenario about the 9" Ford diff, there are now aftermarket parts that makes it not a 9" now supposedly,

so I can imagine a drive train in a Torana with after market parts.  :furious:

Interesting point.

Once you no longer run anything in the engine which is holden then what's the point of keeping it? It's no longer a holden 6 so you may as well just put the cheapest/fastest combo you can find in. Same end result really.

I suppose you could paint it up red and make it look old and slow...each to his own

Looks mint....easy to paint "RED" not the same but if you were looking for more then it would be the next best thing.

Certainly true about cheaper to get power from the ls engine. However,I reckon a alloy block/head holden 6 would be about 50kg lighter than an ls,or any japanese 6 cylinder for that matter.A fair bonus for a circuit car.But then i guess an sr20 would work out similar in weight and make the power with a turbo
