lol how old is that add Ian.

I have been looking for an add just like it but no joy

1989 Paul....... payed $13,000 back then.... it wern't cheap, but it was like brand new, not a mark on it.... Air Conditioned, and the Car Bra it came with looked wicked on it.... been off the road since 1997.. :( but it is low K's lol............ saddest thing is I have next to no photo's of it, and none of my LX ..... maybe 1 of my HZ Premier Wagon 5.0L .... and any photo's I did have, the Ex misses has them..... and I don't think she likes me .... maybe she's a good judge of character ?? ..................... mmmmmm Na ..... :blink:

I still have the whole magazine here somewhere .... if anyones car was forsale march 89 it may be in it..... i'll look for the torana's that were for sale at that time ...

Paul, the Magazine was, Performance & Prestige Cars March?April 1989.... There were 12 Torana's for sale at that time.......... anyone know these cars??

1994: 173 SL - written off T-boned by a 87 year old a week after getting my licence.

I think mike is going to be hard to beat, maybe John gong could be close by the sounds of things???

Keep them coming guys (and girls if you're out there), it's good to have a thread without strong opinions once in a while.
It's nice to see the pics too.

I wonder how many of us now own other members previous cars, there's got to be some overlap there.

I purchaced a LJ GTR in 1981 ,for $5,000,sold it 1989,

Purchased the The LJ XU-1 in 1989 for $5,000 and still have it.

1 LJ four door bought brand new in 1972 sold in 1975. bought HJ ute to tow sports sedan.

1 LJ two door ( sports sedan) sold in 1979. deposit on house.

1 LH four door daughter's first car stolen and burnt.

1 LC two door ( Green Machine)

1LC two door ( donour car )

The last two I still own

I have my hatch and am in the process of buying another Torana. More details on that once I get it home.

I had a white hatch with LH front (square headlights that is at least) too...it was the one I had here, and sent back and sold.

I would have probably kept it around, but it had a sunroof in it :( and didn't want to tackle "fixing" it myself at the time.

Nah that wasn't my doing, in the early years I believed that buying a car already done up was cheaper/easier than doing it myself. Only problem with that, I kept on buying other peoples problems

UC with Opel four banger. Would rev its tits off all day long on the highway. RIP. Got sandwiched between a truck and a car.
LH four door with factory 253 and 4 speed.
LJ 2 door with engineered 253, 4 speed and nine inch.
LJ 4 door with 253, trimatic and banjo.
LH 4 door 308, 4 speed and nine inch.
LX 4 door like grandads axe. Ended up as a 383, R154 and nine inch.
Still have :
LJ 2 door LS1, T350 nine inch.
LJ 2 door engineered 355, 4 speed and nine inch.
LX hatch which has had a few combos but is currently 383, R154 and nine inch.

I feel like I have forgotten a couple.

1x LX Hatch. Which I've still got
1 x UC SL sedan clean car Atlantis Blue sold to the old man
1 x UC S white 202 4 speed 68k nice car I used to complete my hatch
1 x UC Sunbird mandirin Red original condition
1 x UC SL Tan inc colour parted it out.

And that's prob only a third of the cars that have come and gone in the last two years through my joint.

some of us speedway guys have had and destroyed more than you should know we used to average a 2 door shell nearly every meeting with 3 meetings a mounth back in the 1980s I have 2 xu1's 1 lc GTR 3 lc 4door shells 5 lj speedway cars and 13 cars that have been cut or robbed to keep your street cars running my brother has 3 lj gtrs 2 2door rolling shells and he has lh's lx's in various states due to keeping your street cars running you don't want to know how many gtr's we raced on the dirt oval we evan have raced 3 xu1s as well we never keep any bits they where so easy to get back in the day people would come up to us at the track and ask if we wanted to pickup their toranas because they didn't want them anymore
