I'll be in the market for one but never had one before so dont know much about them.

Milwaukee and Dewalt stuff have always been good but cost a fortune.

I'm just after something that will give me the most bang for buck while being reliable when needed.

Just go to bunnings and grab the ryobi 18v rattle gun. It's cheap, good warranty and 265Nm of torque. I've got one and it does wheel nuts no worries. Also not as heavy as the better brands so easy to use. Mind you TTI makes ryobi, AEG and milwaukee.

The milwaukee gun is HEAVY.

And for the record i wouldnt buy anything that isn't li ion. Ni cad is old news. No more dead batteries, no more memory effect, no more overnight charging.

Oh i now charge the batteries monthly & dont leave them on the drill etc in an attempt to make them last longer as i think lack of use killed the ryobi ones as they were almost always flat when i wanted it !

Were the ryobi batteries ni cad?

Yeah see thats the problem. Ni cad is crap and it eventually dies. Dont stress too much about your milwaukee stuff it will last.

Too bloody dear if you ask me. They sting ya 140 for the skin only then you gotta fork out another 100 for the battery and another 100 for the charger. Way too much money for what I need it for.

Theres a couple of cheaper options on ebay for around 200 but yeah I think they're ni cad batteries.

Yeah not too worried. Am using the new drill  more than the old ryobi as its got more grunt  & the grinder is great little jigger! :D

Still cheaper than milwaukee and other top brands. Wouldnt waste my time/money on cheap no names. Or you can buy the entire kit which is a bit cheaper, or just buy second hand.

I have the milwaukee grinder its great. Heaps better than the ryobi one even with a big 4.0ah battery.

Shit that's not too bad. Find it hard to believe it puts out 380nm of torque though. The only other thing i could think of is durability, but if the warranty is good, why not.

Milwaukee's compact driver puts out 280nm so that makes it hard to accept.

Not sure about the warranty, i'll find out from Supercheap tomorrow.

Another one on ebay is a Mondis which has the Li ion battery, 320nm of torque all for around $220 delivered. Also come with charger a carry case and 4 sockets and a 2 year warranty.

Yeah thats the same blue wrench I posted in the previous post Dave.

Another one with good value and I think i'll definitely go with one that has a Li ion battery. I threw out my last 24v drill because the batteries were stuffed and I couldnt buy any replacements.

Yeah I like the blue one too. The fact it comes with a 2 year warranty is good for me considering i'll only use it about 10-15 times a year.

I took 2 rims off the Mustang yesterday and took a Weld off the Torana. After putting them back on I was convinced I need one of these for sure. I plan on taking the Torana next year to the track as well with different rims and slicks to put on at the track.

Hi,

After re-reading all this, I'm now in two minds.

The guys at Bunnings did a demo with the Ryobi on my car and it worked a treat and of course the batteries suit all there other tools of which there are heaps.

The Mondis one is great value and I'm tempted at $200 with free delivery. My only concern is the 24v has anyone had experience with this or is it a matter of bigger is better.

Cheers Brian

Bigger is not always better. You don't want something that you can barely hold in one hand.

Don't go ni cad in any case and you should be fine. Just go the ryobi it does the job. Pulls wheels off my hilux no worries.

Are you blokes so soft that you cant spin a wheelbrace 3 or 4 times a year??

I hope you keep one of these poofter-spanners in the boot in case you get a flat, otherwise you might chip your nailpolish.
