It dosn't look like Catalina, might have a bit trouble landing the plane there. For those who don't know Catalina park is at Katoomba on the blue mountains west of Sydney.

Cheers and well done.

I take it not:- http://www.abc.net.a...ies/s558245.htm

If only they'd evict people for race tracks these days, instead of evicting race tracks for people.

I got a petition through from Victoria during the week. They are trying to ban the creation of any new motor sport venues via the planning regulations!!!

cheats, looking at the picture properties, shame on you, no points. The race track is still there and not used. The plane is on the small pond. There is no way it landed there. The pic GML-31 posted shows the pond as being a pool. The plane is no longer there, but the pond is.

Hrmmm would be a interesting cruise destination if you could actually get to the track not necessarily on it.

You can get to the track, it's near the pool in Katoomba. The plane was trucked in.

Yet another piece of motoring history going to waste!

I heard that this was one of the most awesome race tracks because of the elevations, the view and the edge of the cliff they raced next to!!!

Its something i would LOVE to see..

Yeah, I guess it makes sense to put a Catalina at Catalina Park. Was the Park developed as a memorial or tribute to the guys who flew them?

The council doesnt have the money to maintain the surface and safety barriers or pay for insurance and the residents complain about noise, which sums up why motorsport venues are disappearing.

The Mini Car Club had a Supersprint there about 8-10 years ago and it was one of the last times it was going to be used. My mum hit the wall that day in dads Cooper S.

You can still see the track on Google Earth if you look hard. You can also still see where Amaroo Park was at Annadale even though there's houses there now.
