I was trolling through eBay the other day and happen to stumble across new reproduction silver dashes.

Has anyone purchase one of these or at least laid eyes on one? I'm wondering what the quality is like on these.

The guy who sells them is a rip off artist, one week he had these advertised at $850 and than the next week it went up to $1250 but than again all the stuff from him is way overpriced. By the looks of things the ashtray is probably rare spares as it does not match the rest of the facia and the bottom panels for the fan controls I dare to say are the rare spares items so will again be different shade. I would recommend bypassing this mixed matched dash and find the contact details for a fellow on this forum in Melbourne who actually restores silver dashes at reasonable prices not like Dash Original in South Australia who just lost the plot with their prices.

I thought it was painted, not an insert?

I think I still have contact details to the forum member that restores these. I think last year he was selling complete SLR/SS dashes including the lower panel restored for about $1500 and less if you had exchange dash so this is a way better option than giving this ebay robber a chance to make a buck.

I think his name was Nick, i'll try and dig up his username.

Here's his username but he hasn't been on for over a month, I don't have his number either.

Yeap spot on that's Nicko, last time he quoted me $1500 for a complete restored dash and around $1100-1200 if I supplied exchange parts. He is in Melbourne.
