Hi all,
Look like I am going to be moving to nz this year, I'm just wondering if anyone has imported a Torana or something similar into nz? Does it have to be in warrantable condition when it enters the country or can it be in "project" condition? The NZTA haven't been overly helpful with this information!

Thanks in advance!

Must say the NZTA website is a clear as mud on this, I get the feeling that importing the vehicle could be easier than getting it on the road afterwards .Not promising anything but will try & find time to make a phonecall or two to see if there's some easy answers...

What are you looking at bringing over? that lovely blue beastie pictured above?

I don't know all the details but people definitely bring vehicles in without certifying immediately. I would contact one of the listed entry certifiers to ask if there is a time limit.
http://www.nzta.govt...ting/index.html

If its modified it will also require low volume cert.

From my own experience you absolutely MUST have all the correct paperwork showing that you are the rightful owner and showing that the car was registered and on the road in Australia  and anything else pertinent to the car  otherwise it's a minefield .
