Hi Ken, you might need a month too.
I've seen a very late 73 with some extra hose in the air cleaner. This car had a few non-conforms for a 73 but I was assured that bit was correct.
Otherwise I'd say chrome, no holes, no sticker

This air cleaner is not correct for an ADR 27 compliant GTR.
ADR 27 air cleaner assy was the same for all 2250, 2850 and 3300eng Torana, std black snorkel type.

So then they went to the black long snouted air cleaner for the GTR? Not sure what they were thinking if that was the case..

After 30./9/73 I guess the air cleaner had that extra hose. That one pictured is a 11/73

GMH commenced compliance with ADR 27 on 1/10/1973. So HQ & Torana manufactured on and from the 1st October 1973 were to be compliant with ADR 27 even though ADR 27 didn't come into force until 1/01/1974. XU1 was the exception and did not change.
At the end of the day LJ production was finishing in about 4 months so why spend money modifying the GTR chrome air cleaner for the limited number of GTR's that would be produced. Also I suspect the wide open spaces of the GTR air cleaner may not have been conducive to proper operation of the Positive Closed Crankcase Ventilation System.

Cheers

Hi Dave,
My 12/73 GTR has a Stomberg BXUV-3 carb with the 1 9/16" throttle bore
Isn't this correct for an ADR 27 car?
It also has the plain black snorkel air cleaner, and the 3 hole rocker cover (chrome)
Cheers Kev

Hi Kev
Apologies, I should have clarified the carby specs I posted are for pre ADR 27 202's.
The ADR 27 Stromberg carburetor is different however the only info I have is the part numbers. I don't have any technical specs for the revised carby.
Cheers
Dave.

Sort of.
There are 3 different 6-cyl rockers for LJ (if you don't count the chrome variants).
The early ones have the PCV valve sitting in a type of 'extension tube' which is welded to the rocker cover, they'd been like this since EH.
The next type, introduced in late 1972 saw the PCV valve sitting in a lower pressing (small hump) in the rear of the cover.
From around 1/10/73 onwards the rocker cover had 3 holes; 1 for the oil cap (now sealed), one for the PCV valve & 1 for the newly added pipe to the air cleaner.

Dr Terry did all three types have just the 2 wire holders like mine above? And was this unique to LJ's or did other models have the same two wire holders?

The PCV tube in the EH to 1972 LJ rocker cover wasn't welded to the rocker cover.

The PCV tube in the EH to 1972 LJ rocker cover wasn't welded to the rocker cover.
My point was that it was a separate part that was attached in some way, crimped & then spot-welded perhaps.

The rocker cover my be correct for a late 73 gtr, but were these ones chromed or red.
However I noticed that there is a voltage regulator in the inner guard which had been deleted in 73 models, the engine bay appears to be painted grey as per Adelaide cars but it has a Preslite /Brisbane wiper motor.
The brake fluid decal is on the heater box which I have only seen like this on Adelaide built Lc torana's.
As far as I'm aware all Lc /Lj rocker covers only have the 2 rear wiring clips.
