I have one. you can get a quick release kit that bolts to a universal boss kit, then your steering wheel bolts to that.

it does move steering wheel towards you about 50-60mm.

to make things comfortable I had to move my seat back a bit, I have fixed mount race seats and lower the steering column  down about 5 mm to get the angle a little nicer, easy job spacers and longer bolts.

when driving they do affect you position of the indicator stalk, further away, not a bad thing on a race car.

on my car its definitely nicer, also allows working inside car easier.

Out of curiosity, how much would a kit cost?

Wow thats cheap.

Think I payed like $60 US for the butterfly release one I got for my ski boat.

Might get one of those little ones for the mini....

Cheers.

Nice for a car with deep fixed backs. Lots of people have them on cars with little merit, though.

they certainly help when you have roll cages and fixed mounted seats, ease of getting in and out.

also repair work inside of vehicle.

Wouldn't a diet be cheaper? The car would also go faster due to less weight.

have you tried getting in and out of cars with roll cages, specially the elaborate ones.

Yeah, I used to play with several cars competing in the Porsche cup back in the 90's. That was several years and kilograms ago.

Hahaha, I'm not a big person and I struggle to get in a mates car, his cage work makes it much tighter than my torana

BTW I would be hesitant to buy a $20 quick release kit, particularly for a Torana with no power steering that you're hustling.

I think most of the ones I've used are a few hundred dollars and they are very mechanically impressive. After seeing videos on YouTube of racecar steering wheels coming off and shit, I'd be opening my wallet a bit wider hahaha
