just curious don't shoot me down what is the benefit of going this way over getting longer rods and custom forged slug surly theirs not much difference in price if you look at the big picture after modding the crankshaft an all?..

G'day mate ,

These rods are $850 a set ,custom length rods to suit holden are usually $1000- $1600 a set , the nissan pistons with rings are about $500 a set with rings ,custom forged pistons are about $1600 a set plus rings . These rods with the smaller big end size allows an extra 1/8" stroke as well as the longer rod so you get both benefits . There is a substantial increase in mid range torque over the stock rod engine .

The offset crank grind with 1.771" pins costs a few hundred bucks more than a standard grind.

They are a custom rod that we get made , they are a strong h beam  design with 3/8" ARP bolts .

The rod ratio with a 3 3/8" stroke is 1.68 which is even better than a 186 engine so you get a torquey and free revving engine.

Be good for 14:1 compression ratio too.  :D

Digging up an old thread here...

I'm looking to build up a 202 NA engine for street use, and this combo sounds great for the bottom end.

Grant - did you end up getting a set done?

Mick - be keen to talk more if it's something you still do.
