Question is, to make them smooth like glass again am i better off using bog or a fibreblass resin to fill the dips and imperfections before paint ?
Any advice on products would be fantastic
Thanks

How did that happen? Done up to tight and not supported properly from the back?

Ive bought a new set but figure it might just be easier to repair these ones

Has that puckering occurred at every fixing on all four flares?

I'd be inclined to fix them if that pic is the worst one.
There is the possibility your new set of flares (different manufacturer?) may not line up properly with the existing bolt holes.

Something to consider though before attempting to repair the existing flares is what happens to the puckering when you remove them from the car?
You will probably want to remove them to repair and paint them.

Fill some of the whole with some resin and matting. Then bog up the rest of it.
Tape off the guard area with some good plastic etc and do most of the repair on the car.
Then remove to paint. They shouldn't flex to much on removal I wouldn't think.
That's would be my way but these many ways to skin a cat.

How thick are the flares?
Does the dip go away when loosened?
I had some flares that were really thin and deformed with any pressure.

Are they plastic or "glass"?, (hard to tell from pic),if plastic you might get away with gently carefully heating to "reform" the sagged bit to a better shape while fitted then use filler?
If glass, another method will be needed.??

Been thinking about it most the day, im really curious to know what happens if you loosen the bolts off a bit.

just use bog . never use resin as a filler by itself , it gets to hot and depending how thick it is it can boil . You also need a gel coat to make it smooth.
I use to make fiberglass pool filters , all we used to fill dents was resin mixed with talc , witch i think bog is made of ?

TMK pretty much polyester resin + talk yeah, few other bibs and bobs I think.
And I agree, I definitely wouldnt try to fill it with resin.
Try loosening the bolts and see what happens, curious.
cheers.

Resin and micro-balons (it is a bulking agent to make resin into a filler) - what we use on sail boats. Bog isn't a whole heap different, main thing is to braid the surface so it has something to stick/adhere to.
My flares are the same, one day!!!
