Am looking for help with the small angled brackets (item 8) for the forward fixed floor to seat back protection.

Does any forum member have pictures of the original installation to post up here and/or know a good alternative to these as for sure they would be rare?

Are they not just the hinges ?

Or do you mean the piece the hinge screws to ?

Thanks Neil for the link.
The two pieces screw up to the front of the fixed floor panel to protect the hinged "in fill" flaps when the seats are locked in their upright positions.
They are not included in the RPA kit.

The pieces Michael is after are similar in appearance to a bit of angle iron, the same screws that retain the non-removable front most piece of the rear floor board retain these plates/angles, sandwiched together, the plates have slots in them to be able to position them to determine the upright position of the rear seat backs. The front lower edge of them return back a small bit so that the flap on the back of the seat does not dig into it during operation. Without going and measuring them, I'd say they are 1.6mm to 2mm thick.

If you can't buy them they should be real easy for a decent sheet metal shop to fold close enough most people wouldn't pick it, then all you have to do is get the holes/slots in the right place.

Do you need a picture or a profile for the plates?

Definitely would be of help to get a side profile picture with some measurements Mick.

Length shouldn't be an issue as they will be as long as required for each seat back and the slotted holes will align with the floor screw holes already in place..

You maybe able to add measurements to this picture below.

This, I suspect, is something I will need to make up.

If I out source the job I may get a whole bunch made and on sell at cost to others who may need them.

OK, here is enough to have you sorted, I could have done better but ITS FREEZING outside.

Let me know if you need any more info.

ps- the hand drawings are simply traced around the outside of the part.

Its worth noting that the part does not match the diagram 100%, its flat on top rather than the additional upward and roll over top?

For reference, my car is a 2/78, but the other guides I have from my other car are the same and its a ?/77

Appreciate the pictures, really helpful...these really do look like a piece of angle iron!

Do we know what the 2 holes in the front face are for?

Nope, I've had my Hatch for more than 24 years and there has never been anything in the holes from the day I got it.

The guides I took the pics of have the original finish on them and there is no sign of anything ever being fitted to them.

That pieces only function as far as i can tell is to stop the back flap from falling down when the back seat is folded down.I wouldnt waste big money on it when a 3 mm flat plate will do the same job

You miss some of the point of them a little, as the seats are moved back to their up-right position they also help to fold the boards up.

They also stop the boards (and the vinyl covering) digging into the guides. Yes you could flip up the boards and they wouldn't dig in, but that would have you having to be particular about them every time.

They also offer a flat broad area for the seat flaps to sit against while the seats are in the up-right position, again stopping a sharp edge digging and cutting into the vinyl covering and wooden flap itself.

They also let you set the up-right position or how far back the seat sits which lets you adjust the seat position in relation to the latches, this is the only adjustment for the latches.

Very important little angle brackets.
With the diagrams I am pretty sure I will be able to make them myself as the real things don't look anything like the parts manual.

yeah mine are the same as that but angle iron wont do the job..on the side that the seat rests against theres a "safety" fold which I think is important so the edge doesn't cut into the vinyl of the seat

I would get some bent up out of 2mm sheet with the safety fold
