Hi all...just wondering if I could get some help off you guys regarding the original radio speaker mounting plate that fits above the kick panel on the passengers side.

I need...if possible....some one to trace this plate onto paper and scan it.....and post it up on this thread.

If you can help could you also add a scale to the tracing...ie draw a 100mm line on the bottom of the page and mark it every 10mm so when I print it out I can scale it to the correct dimensions.

Im just putting a Retro Sound old school look...modern radio in the car and would like to mount the speakers in there original positions.

Thanks heaps in advance

Cheers

Al

Hi Victor.....no mate...there the rear parcel shelf speaker covers.
The plate im looking for is the mounting plate for the single radio speaker that fits under the dash on the passenger side front kick panel....the speaker mounts to this plate then the plate and speaker mount over the hole in the body just above the left kick panel.
The mounting plate is used because the body hole is too big for the speaker so it just extends the speaker so it can be screwed over the hole..
If your not using the speaker grills pictured above let me know...will pay cash for them.

Thanks any way Victor.
Cheers
Al

Sorry.....hang on....on closer inspection of your pics I was wrong.
That is the speaker Im talking about.
The mounting plate is under that black grill.
Sorry about that...the rear ones dont have the four screws visable from the top if i remember.

Yes so thats the one I need dimensions for.

There is no 'mounting plate' under the grille m8.

Just the cover, grille gasket & speaker.

The under dash ones have holes, the rear shelf ones have studs.

Your best bet will be to find a UC. Most of them have them. :)

Thanks Col for setting me straight....I was looking at the hole where the speaker fits and it is a strange shape so I thought it must of had a mounting plate behind the kick panel....my speaker is missing so I couldnt compare...
So the speaker and grill fit straight in and overlap the kick panel by about half the speaker.....is the front speaker a 5x7 like the rear ones? Cause im putting in my stereo and dont want to cut anything....if so i will source 4 5x7 speakers to fit.

Yeah, Im lost....

So am I Hanra lol

Thanks victor much appreciated....sorry for the cofusion....just didnt understand what should be there

Cheers everyone

My speaker bolted up there no worries. Just has the metal surround and grille over the top of it. Exactly how Victors is.

Thanks for the offer Aaron appreciated....however - now I know how the speaker attaches Im going to source 4...5x7 inch speakers....2 for the front and 2 for the rear parcel shelf.

They will be after market and better quality than original.......there are various brands in this size but just need to talk to a pro to get the best brand to suit my stereo.

And I agree the sound of a sweet V8 is the go.......just haven't built one yet for my car lol...but its coming.

Yeh Statler sent me some pics of a speaker and grill and I can see now what I was missing as my car came minus speakers :banghead:   and I also noticed on the back of my new kick panels there is a U shaped pencil line which is now obvious....its the cutout for the speaker......I should of paid more attention to Victors pics before waffling on about it.

I will post the pics Statler sent tomorrow so others can see also.

cheers

Al

Here's some pictures of mine.

First there are 4 round rubber bit's. Then the foam part followed by the speaker. Then the grill then a foam part & finally the cover that was in my first post. You can see the small holes where the screws go in one of the pic too.
