hi guys

I am about to put a celica 5 speed behind my 202 in an lx and need to modify the original torana crossmember

Does that take much to do or is it easier to just buy a CRS one

any measurements would be great  please If it can be done

cheers phil

When I did mine over 20 years ago it was a cut and weld job. From memory the mount sits lower than aussie/trimatic.

^ If its anything like the Supra that will be the main issue, the gearbox mount in the centre becomes the lowest point and the exhaust has to be changed to run down the sides instead. If this is the case it would probably be easiest to achieve best exhaust/ground clearance with a new cross member.

I'm pretty sure supra and celica x members for lx lh are the same.
I had both and one stage still might have the celica one to take some measurement for you. Will let you know after work tonight.

I fitted a supra box to my HZ ,I modified the existing cross member,Cant remember exactly how I done it now,but the cross member had a hole in the centre so the rear mount sat down in a section that bolted up from underneath
