Evening all,are LCGTR engine and gearbox mounts the same as LJ?looks like some one has tried to make a LJ one fit.Mine has the opel gearbox ,so do the opel gearbox mounts differ to the LJ?

Yes, the Opel M20 4 spd gearbox rear mount is different to the Aussie M20 4 spd and M15 3 spd rear mount.

I wonder if the early Monaro's share the same gearbox mount?

My spare is the same , it would take the stress out of the mount with the bottom fitting flat .

Ok so you can use the later LJ mounts without any dramas?

If the height of the original mount is the same as the later ones , I will try and get a picture over the next few days of an old mount .

A bit hard to get a good shot Paul but the original engine mount stops before the rib at the front .

I found a HR mount from a 4 speed.( NOS_) they were opel as well

seemed to fit OK in my GTR

Does anyone know if the Rare Spares engine Mount EM1005B be suitable for an LC GTR with the Opel Box?

No, the Opel uses a different mount to the Aussie 4 spd, Trimatic and M15 3spd.

I just used a standard mount and re drilled the holes as they are offset to clear the extension housing strengthening web.
