Just letting everyone know to beef up security on their cars and sheds. Had an attempt to get mine tonight. They had started to cut a hole in the side of the shed with tin snips. Woke up and disturbed them. Feeling very pissed off at the world at the moment. Area is south side of Brisbane. Allready had the police out and done a report. Be on the lookout for anyone who is out of place in your area.

Now that the sun is up I can see how far they got. Further than I thought.

No good Dave. I saw on Facebook your shed is alarmed ? At least they would not of had time to break in to the cars or steal anything with the alarm going.

Perhaps some sensor lights around the outside would further deter them ?

Get a dog,
I have a Great Dane that scares the shit out of anyone who comes up to the front gates, she jumps up and looks over the gates barking.
Had a few guys drop the pizza when she's done that....lol. Oh I've got three Amstaff's as well. ( hey I'm a Torry owner )
They all let me know when there is an unusual noise.

I'd be pulling those sheets off and putting up F82 reo mesh under the sheets.

wow..they made some progress before you sent them off mate. Did the Police offer any idea if the scum were doing the area?, or just a one off?

Reckon the above comments are pretty accurate......if you like dogs and have the room for one, they certainly act as an early warning system and deterrent.

Shouldnt have to, but there are scumbags always lurking around , and most of us are sitting ducks for a concerted effort,  but a dog, big or small is certainly one method of moving them on.

Alarm had been deactivated and the light only helped them. They wanted what was in there. Lucky for me I got up.

I've got cctv & alarm. Had a bloke down the road dump a fridge on the side of the road next to my house. Caught it all on camera. Knocked on his door, told him to pick it up. He said it wasn't him. When I told him the time & I had caught him on the cctv, he came & picked it up.
even when I'm away I can review it on my phone.

Great that you prevented anything further Dave, Same here with cctv system & alarms, Small dogs are the best alarms though & our lil one whilst annoying at times (Like right bloody now) awaken at the slightest of noises and proceed to awaken The Larger Pooch then all hell breaks loose...

Great save Dave,

I have screwed 48 of 2420H x 1210W x 16mm thick double sided waterproof melamine sheeting,

to the inside walls of the shed.

Costs about $35 per sheet at Bunnings.

Now that the sun is up I can see how far they got. Further than I thought.

Another thing is to put Tek-screws every sheet bump,

like cyclone rated roofing.  :spoton:

Hate to say it Dave but I reckon they have been watching your movements on social media and in the flesh for quite a while before they finally struck.

People these days don't take any notice of alarms, even the cops will only check one out if they're bored, otherwise it's given low priority. Most alarms would only get called in because someone is sick of the noise!

But these little scumbags are very wary of dogs, as old Jonesy used to say "They do not like it up 'em"

Although if somebody has a real hard on to get into your shed they may try and bait a dog, it takes a lot of work to train a dog not to eat unless directed to as well.

Deactivated, so they weren't opportunistic thieves, obviously well planned. I would be speaking to your alarm people to ensure any loss of power etc, sets off the alarm, not turns it off...

I don't think that they would make it to hospital ice.
Thanks for the messages of support and offers of help much appreciated. Shed has received a new addition today. Might wake up everyone in 5ks but worth it.

Personally, I wouldn't divulge any more info on the additions. They could well be reading this.
