At long last I'm putting up some photos of my Hatch Project. I bought it about 5 years ago  semi-finished, just needed to touch up the Paint a bit, fit Motor and Gearbox + fit parts of the Interior. Little did I know! I approached a Panel Beater / Spray Painter Mate for his take on what I needed to do to finish the Bodywork and then after a rough quote and handshake deal I entrusted him to finish it off. Little did I know! Long story, short story, I "repossessed" it 4 weeks ago, after 2 years and 3 months - maybe 1/4 of Bodywork fixed and having paid way to much [ I was constantly reminded how this was a custom rebuild and quality takes time and money ]. We live and learn.

As you can see in the Photos above, alot of faults were hidden with "Bog". So we move on to the next phase - with having the "Sh.ts" with the Panel Beater, the previous Owner and Rusty Hatchbacks I bought another Car.2014-12-07%2015.03.16_zpsuhome6px.jpg2014-12-07%2015.03.04_zpsjmdfnlpz.jpg2014-12-07%2015.02.52_zpsbbwu88g8.jpg2014-12-07%2015.02.36_zpsmvyjivqw.jpg2014-12-07%2014.57.56_zps0ek7whpa.jpg2014-12-07%2014.56.40_zps86u0epsh.jpg

I imported this from the USA - 1970 Chevelle SS L34 - Genuine matching numbers 396 ci Big Block/ M21 Muncie / 3.73 Posi 12 Bolt - Rides and handles excellent and with heaps of Power - has small Hyd Cam / Holley / Extractors. Negotiations are in place for finishing the Hatch - I have too much invested in it to stop now - had new wheels made 18 months ago / transmissiom was fully rebuilt 18 months ago / new Brown Davis Drop Tank etc etc - details revealed when I am more advanced. For now, I'm a "Chevy Man".

Nice way to deal with a less than ideal situation. 70' Chevelle! Hey Man watch the Leather! (Dazed & confused quote). 1970 pinnacle of muscle car HP - even if it was more directly with respect to the LS6. Love the cowl induction.

Enjoy!

Definitely one of the nicer looking Yanky muscle cars. I would glady have that.

Hey Terry,

I have a fair idea what you went through when it comes to dodgy panel beaters in Cairns

I'm very hesitant in handing over any money without the recommendations of someone who has had a sucessful experience.

Keep us all posted mate, I will be watching with interset for sure.

Cheers,

Christ I have been wishing I could afford a built car lately, and you may have swung me finally onto Yankee cars with that beast. Lovely. Never thought I'd say that about a silver car, but nice!

And yeah, hard to find a good panel beater, but man doing it yourself is hard! Still, I'm persevering with mine, and I cant wait to see some of the tasty bits bolted onto your hatch. Glad you're sticking with it. A good panel beater will sort those issues out pretty quickly.

Yeah stuff paying people to work on your car. I think very few people ever have really positive experiences lol.

Love the Chevelle. Cog box & big block goodness. That would certainly ease the pain!

When I see that Chevelle it reminds me of the Movie Jack Reacher, love the car!

Turned out awesome Terry, gotta love a white hatch.

I was starting to suspect that it was an A9X, but you ruined it for me by showing the photo with the auto pedal! :)
