Hi all,

I want to restore the seatbelts on my Brisbane built 7/72 LJ GTR.

Searched and read a lot of stuff on the forum about getting seatbelts re webbed etc , and people stating they got there buckles and other hardware re plated first then sent to other places for re webbing. So the question is who re plates / restores the hardware?

On Brad Merricks XU1 parts website he states he doesn't re plate your hardware, what you send him is what you will get back. I really like the look of his belts and the correct plastic covers on the adjusters and plastic tongues on the ends of the belt straps, but I will need to gather up all the correct hardware and get it all re plated first. I am missing the front seat belts as they have been replaced with retractable belts.

Can you guys recommend a belt buckle re plater / restorer please?

Another treasure hunt begins!

OK what I have so far....

both complete rear seat belts still in the car and I believe are correct.

rear center lap sash belt removed, but im hoping is 1 of the belts found in a bag in the boot.

some other belt buckles on a short fixed length strap with steel anchor. belt webbing different to rear belts and center lap sash. buckles are non adjustable length type. are they of any use to me?

pics of belts found in the boot.

Hamilton Chrome in Newcastle can re chrome them.

Also I have some spare Brissy built buckles but would have to check how good they are.

Yeah they'll probably make you do that which is a pretty simple process.

Is there any trick to it? I had a bit of go at them but wasn't sure so I gave up before breaking out the hammers and big screw drivers and stuff.
