Be very, very cautious using glass grit outside of a closed container.

Ita about as dangerous as aspestos.

Due to Fibres DJ?

If you wanted to use garnet, get a big tarp and do your blasting on that, that is what others have done and usually get a few goes out of each lot.

Saves money and mess, plus I wouldn't use the glass after what Bomber pointed out.

ok so an update on the 1jz into lc well very very slow atm just have no time to get anything done.. This is due to having a 10month taking up every afternoon and most weekends.

So to help the process I have found a bloke close by that wil do the full install of the 1j with custom engine mounts, custom front sump and custom gearbox mount to also drop the streering rack lower to get motor to still flat and low

so hope to send it in once I get back from holiday  YAY

I spoke to the bloke with EZE 10S for 10mins and sold my 1JZ and bought a SB chev. I think it would to better to bolt a RB26 in with no cutting the car up.

What put you off the 1jz? Firewall trimming to clear head/rocker cover?

yeah RB engine will be easier due to the fact of hot side not being on streering colum side and they are a lower motor to I believe

But cost for a RB26 is a lot more then 1JZ

I was wanting to put a vx super charged motor in it to keep it all holden but the LA laws put a quick stop to that idea

Then my next plan was RB just due to Nissan holden rel back in the VL days

Frankenstein Rb30 block with Rb25 topend..far cheaper to build it first than go Rb26,blow up,rebuild....

Jz engines seem nicer to drive on street more torque down low.

Dude down here did vx supercharged v6 into lj,ugly ass engine bay & sounds like makita drill when boots in...going whipple soon.

Rules out xr6 turbo conversion lol

OK so with no time of late a have found a guy to do my install.

First part was to lower the streering rack so the motor will sit nice and low.  With this part done now, I can "if I get my ass into gear get K Frame painted and get new bushes for it ready to be sent back for the engine mounts and gear box mounts and custom sump.

Did you ever get around to trial fitting the r154 into the Torana? I’m curious to see if it fits the tunnel or needs cutting...?
