VSS plugged in? I think so. ran out of time to check but I will later.
I watched him do the VATS didn't look to complex, he is a tuner himself.
Ill have a look at VSS and a general look around.

Do you have an OBDII adapter?

If so, does any of the software show a virtual dashboard to confirm the ECU is seeing a VSS signal?

No I don't have any adapter. Is that a comms cable that splices into the loom?

I should mention I removed the transmission switch and put back on close as possible to where it was.
Could this screw the gear change or is this mainly for P R N D selection?

No, you should have transplanted the OBDII connector with the LS wiring loom, it's a system diagnostic point that's supposed to be located within reach from the driver's seat and looks something like this...

Then you can buy adapters to plug into that port and a laptop/touchscreen/smartphone/etc., there are literally thousands of them on eBay, this is just the first one I found (I'm not making any recommendations as most of these are cheap Chinese knock-offs)...

... but you can buy them for like twenty bucks and some of the software is free, including some that displays a virtual dashboard with all kinds of nifty stuff...

Holy crap. Long gone are the carby days for sure lol

Ok so far I have found out that I need 12v on one of the wires in my loom for gearbox, Pink with Blue trace. Now I found this wire and it is not connected to 12v. Ill confirm soon and get back to you.

Ok, this is good for the guys trying this conversion, so yes the Pink wire with Blue trace needed 12v connected to it to turn on the gearbox. Confirmed to a point as I didn't drive it but its definitely in first gear as it nearly did a burn out in the garage where before it would barely take off.
All good :)
Thanks guys I will confirm 100% this weekend when I drive it up the street again
