Hi, ive owned my LC 2 door for about 12 years now < bought as a roller off a family member and now have decicded to pull it out of shed to restore but the problem I have is it has no id tags but still has the body\chassis number on inner guard. it was never regoed in my family members name as he bought the body to restore but decided it was to much so we have no previous rego history on it . transport told me if I had previous rego papers then the missing id tags wouldn't be a problem . does anyone have any idea on how I can some how find out how to fix my problem or do I have a cool looking garden ornament ???

Hi Andrew, as has already been suggested to you, post up whatever tag info you have and/or pics, if possible, in the GTR & XU1 verification thread or alternatively you can PM Bazza or myself with the info if you want to keep it private.

Cheers

Dave.

The general story goes that as long as the chassis number is there you wont have any trouble registering it.

The tags are just a method of telling you what you have. Provided they havent been tampered with.

Without the tags it would be difficult to prove it is anything but a base model car.

It may well have been something special, but no tags means no tangible proof.

It can be identified in other ways, most of which can also be easily copied.

Hi S Pack,
Yes I realise that ...I can't work out uploading photos from mobile, have contacted baz directly and emailed him the tags I do have. I was referring to his problem/question of getting it registered without a vin tag and without any prior rego slips etc.
The guy that has the one I'm after has the same story...been in shed 20 years, he bought it unregistered with Intent on doing it but never got round to. It has no "vin tag" and no prior registration history.
Thanks
