Any chance someone could post a couple of photos showing the rear tail pipe hanger brackets please. Need shots of where and how they attach to the chassis and the exhaust if possible.

Also has anyone purchased new ones and could direct me to a supplier ?

Cheers

The LH parts catalog lists the same tailpipe support clamp for 6 & 8 cyl engines and a different part number for 4 cyl engines. This would indicate that the 6 & 8 cyl tailpipes were the same diameter.clamp_LH-1.jpgTailpipe listingtailpipe.jpg

You will struggle to get them new.

Seen on ebay occasionally, although the leather/fabric piece can a bit worse for wear.

Looks like I can get them from Parra exhausts in NSW. Just going through the process now, hopefully they're a winner

I'm just going through the same process of trying to source these. Did you have any luck? Any idea if you can get the round clamp (item 13 above) in different sizes? My pipes are 2 1/4"

Making my own was plan b. Figured if I could buy something off the shelf it would save some time. I'll have to pull out my 6cyl one to copy and 'upsize'.

I know this might be a lot to ask, but does anyone have an original one that is handy to them to quickly run a tape/ruler over? I have drafted one up but only by eye from the parts manual as I don't have access to the car during the week. Here's what I have come up with so far, no holes for the rubber loop because I am not sure whether to bolt or rivet it on yet.

I was also thinking of making up an original style clamp but to suit my 2.25" pipes, something like this.

Thanks to Archie (fuzzypumper) I now have a complete set of tail pipe brackets. I used bolts to fasten the rubber to the bracket in lieu of the pressed studs. I bought the rubber from Clark Rubber it is 50mm wide 6mm thick 230ish long each so I bought 500mm. This was the close enough to the original size for me. The brackets I had laser cut and pressed by a supplier at work. The round clamp I had laser cut flat and had the simple 100° bend done then formed the round shape over a 60mm OD heavy wall pipe using a G-Clamp and a hammer to work it around. Was a lot easier than I thought. I also had some custom hanger brackets made up for near the mufflers. If anyone is interested I can help with these but I did have to modify one side to suit as the existing exhaust was different left to right relative to the hanger bracket off the trailing arm.

Thanks once again guys. If anyone wants more photos or drawings for the parts I had made just let me know.
