The multilayer bitumen felt sound barrier stuff that trufit make works well if you don't want adhesive style stuff. It really cut the noise down in the old LX.

It's kinda hard to photograph well. It's two layers of fabric backed felting with bitumin between, sticking them together. It squashes down ok and is easier to fit on a hot day after its left out on the driveway. I think trufit still have their factory out in Dandenong if you are passing that way.

That stuff is 5000x more likely to cause rusting issues than something like dynamat.

Because it absorbs water.

No reason to check your inside floor pans for rust. POR15 your pans on both sides plus the dynamat/resomat is sticky as buggery. No way water or moisture is getting under that and rusting.

Dunno. I had this in the car for years without a problem. I thought your best defence was keeping the car leak free?
The big pipes I had running under the floor certainly dried out any trace moisture!

Absolutely rexy.

If you were proactive cleaning the floorpan up properly and keep leaks at bay, you wont have an issue.

Just that old mate said he didn't want anything sticky for rust reasons....
