Hi Maz.
I checked with my trimmer and he said they aren't popular so he doesn't do them. Good luck finding the correct vinyl too. I am after some ash grey vinyl for an LJ very difficult to find. Regards phillip

Thanks for that Phil....I dont like my chances finding someone who can do them...soo thought i'd ask here first instead of ringing a heap of

trimmers thought atleast a couple dudes here would have.

You would think they would have to be popular unless of course everyone is going gtr.. or there trim is still in good nic..lhs dr trim has had the top section replaced above chrome strip and sprayed gold.was definetly a smokers car.clear evidence he has dropped his smoke more than once .back isnt bad but does have some tiny holes.

if i cant get it done i will pull it all out to store and go gtr   :).

This looks to be the same color as mine, Trim 1197-41F
I'm trying to find the original trim color for the dash pad.
You would have a picture would you?

Very interested to see how you go. I need to re-do mine as well and wanted to keep the original look.

Thanks Maz,
Looks very similar to mine, but my dash pad was faded to a greenish brown color.
Yours looked to be similar to the tops of the door skins.
I'm going down the same path with the interior, so I will let you know if I find anything more.
Cheers, Tony

Another example.

I've been told the vinyl is available. I'm thinking I might source some before re-colouring the dash pad so i can match it.

How are you going with this Tony.. any luck

Was chatting to fella and has said he
he had the option of getting his seats & dr trim pressed but didnt have the time to wait.

Supertrim in Coburg is where he said can do it
i dont know how good they are or even seen
there work so cant recommend but def worth a look

Ps... is the material used for seats and dr
trim (roebuck) same as material used for roof lining as i see some on upholsterers sites

Cheers maz

I have purchased enough material to do the whole job.
I've been doing some research before deciding which way to go.

Originally the skins were pressed in one go. So the patern was nice and even etc.
It looks like there are a few people making the GTR ones this way, but no luck with the S 4door patern.

It's possible to have the lines individually "welded" into the material, but it would be a big job.
I have seen a sample of a single line where the patern was very similar.
It's probably not a big deal to make new rollers for the machine to match exactly, but I'm guessing it would be expensive and tough to maintain consistency.

At this stage I'm thinking I will just have the pattern reproduced using stitching.
I have also seen a 4 door with the GTR pattern, stiched. I have also considered doing this.

The hood lining looks different to me.
I purchased the material from C&G and have also spoken to them about having the hood lining done.

Thats funny.c&g was the first place i looked
i havnt rang them but the antique gold
material i seen was for the roof lining
hence why i asked if same thickness as the
Seats and dr trim.it doesnt mention for seat
Etc.they do have antique saddle for seats etc
But no antique gold.

Did you buy them out tony haha

Guys, yes the material is different from headlining to seats

I personally dont like to use seating for headlining.. 1 stretches the other doesnt.. or very minimally

if you use seating grade for headlining and its big car you will have problems.. sometime we do when a customer wants everything to match but ill only do that in a small car..

there a some people out there that will only use seating grade for headlinings which is up to them but for me i need to make sure that what we make/sell is made to  last..replacements would cost to much

headlining is alot thinner also - makes it easier for windows and rubbers to sit better

Antique is no problem.. ill have to relist on the website if its not on there

in a factory car there was several different vinyls.. door, seating.. roof

door vinyl was actual plastic .. even pillars in some cars

Ok, so if it helps, I have purchased antique gold material from C&G and it's as close as I can see to my seats.
Hood looks different.
All original from what I can see.
Happy to take pics, but don't have lots of free time

This is the nos one. There are no marks on the rears but some minor tears and marks on the fronts
Will get photos of those up tomorrow. I bought them from J Gong (not the nos one) but sold the car before I could use them.
